Thumper

Thumper (Ch. Mardais Heartchaser of Ricmar, SC) was bred by Cynthia Kittler and came to us when he was 9 months old. We finished his championship just shy of his second birthday at the 2005 National Specialty weekend in Shreveport, LA. About half his points were owner handled. Not bad for a newbie show dog owner/handler!

In addition to his conformation championship Thumper has also earned his senior courser (SC) title. He loves the "bunny" but is usually slower than the other Ibizans. We will course him for fun as we are able but we have no plans to pursue a Field Championship at this time. He often "wanders off" the course to look for something more interesting to do at a leisurely pace.

We love the big goon and are now considering doing some obedience with him. He has a CHIC (Canine Health Information Center) certificate and his thyroid, eyes, and hearing were all normal. However he does have a degree of hip dysplasia and so he has been neutered and retired from the conformation ring. He rarely shows signs of problems and we are taking steps to preserve his hip function at the hight possible level.
